Atlanta interior designer Vern Yip, cast member of “HGTV Design Star” is best known on the show for critiquing interior design concepts. However, this talented designer has more than color pallets, interior layouts and furniture on his mind… and most importantly, in his heart.

Yip contributed to hosting the UNICEF Experience this past Sunday, which is “an interactive event” giving guests a “taste of what children in more than 150 developing countries deal with every day.” (AJC, HGTV)

In addition to his successful career, Yip adopted two young children and is currently a UNICEF ambassador. The design-mastermind helped organize an annual fundraiser here in Atlanta along with Rebecca Gupta (Sanjay’s wife) and founding co-chair John Terracino. (We have heard it was a great success!)

“I have such a wonderful life,” said Yip. “I get to take my kids with me when I travel. I get them up in the mornings and don’t have to stress about health or food or water. I realize that’s such a luxury we take for granted.” (AJC, HGTV)

Cobb County and Acworth police are investigating multiple cases of alleged child molestation on behalf of a church youth group volunteer.

Cesar Pastrana, 25, is in custody at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center according to authorities on Monday. Cesar was charged with aggravated child molestation, child molestation and sexual battery.

A  youth group lock-in, also known as “THRIVE,” was held Feb 3 and 4 by Kennesaw’s Northstar Church at a private Cobb residence.

Pastrana is accused of molesting two of the attendees.  However, authorities aren’t convinced this is the end of it.

We’re not limiting the scope of our investigation to just churches,” Pierce told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “We’re also asking about schools and anything he volunteered to do.” (AJC, Brooks)
